REVIEW

Yeah, you read it right – there’s a new Shatter Me book!!! Well, it’s a novella, BUT STILL OMG!! 😍 I’ve been dying to get my hands on more Mafi books since I read Restore Me last year, and although the next book is still a few weeks away from being released, at least we got a novella to warm us up and to lessen the pain of waiting for Defy Me 😅 As you probably know by now, Tahereh Mafi is one of my favorite authors, so I am ecstatic to dive back into this world and to read about my babies again 🤗

There are two other novellas in the series, one told from Adam’s POV, and another from Warner’s POV. This time, the novella is told from Kenji’s POV – FUCKING KENJI’S POV I AM NOT OKAY 😫 I have loved Kenji for a long time, and I always felt like he was a bit overlooked until Restore Me. But now we get a whole novella just with his POV and oh my, did I love every second 😻

For those of you who have read Restore Me, this novella takes place during the final parts of the book, and we actually get to see some scenes from Restore Me, but told from Kenji’s perspective. I think it’s pretty insightful to have Kenji’s POV and input. It’s always a bit incomplete when a series is only told from one main character’s perspective and we only get to see one side of things because that means we are losing a lot of information. That’s actually why I enjoyed the fact that Restore Me was told from both Juliette’s and Warner’s perspectives so much – in my humble opinion, it adds a lot of depth to the story.

Besides adding to the story, this novella also helps us learn more about Kenji, how he feels, and how he thinks, which just strengthens your love for him and makes you want to protect him at all costs. He’s also a freaking angel and so so cute when he’s head over heels for a certain someone 😫 Can you tell I’m excited? 😅 I really missed reading about these characters, so can April please hurry up so I can lock myself in my room reading the next book??

Overall, I absolutely loved and devoured this novella, and I am DYING for Defy Me to come out. Restore me ended on such a cliffhanger, I can’t believe Tahereh Mafi did us like that – I need to know what happens next! 😅
