Reading Time: 3 minutes

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly post in which we share what we’ve recently finished reading, what we’re currently reading, and what we plan on reading next. This meme/tag is hosted by Kathryn over at Bookdate.

Eeny Meeny by M.J. Arlidge

I actually haven’t read much the last couple of weeks, and I certainly haven’t finished any books. However, I’ve been making my way through Eeny Meeny by M.J. Arlidge and did manage to read a bit last week. I’m enjoying it but, for some reason, still haven’t finished it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Two people are abducted, imprisoned, and left with a gun. As hunger and thirst set in, only one walks away alive.

It’s a game more twisted than any Detective Helen Grace has ever seen. If she hadn’t spoken with the shattered survivors herself, she almost wouldn’t believe them.

Helen is familiar with the dark sides of human nature, including her own, but this case—with its seemingly random victims—has her baffled. But as more people go missing, nothing will be more terrifying than when it all starts making sense…

Sadie by Courtney Summers

This is an upcoming YA thriller that was sent to me by St. Martin’s Press (thank you so much!). My review will be up very soon, so definitely look out for that!

I’ve actually JUST finished it as I’m writing this post, so I shouldn’t include it in this category, but I’m not reading anything else so… 😄

Sadie hasn’t had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she’s been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.

But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie’s entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister’s killer to justice and hits the road following a few meagre clues to find him.

When West McCray—a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America—overhears Sadie’s story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie’s journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it’s too late.

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

I bought and started this one when it first came out two years ago… and never finished it 🤦🏻‍♀️

I recently saw that it will be coming out in Portugal very soon, so I think it’s a great time to pick it up. Oh, and I’ve been craving fantasy the last couple of days, so I want to get to this one asap 🙌🏼

In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born—three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins.

The last queen standing gets the crown.
