Reading Time: 3 minutes

Hi everyone!! Welcome to another Top 5 Tuesday post. T5T is a bookish meme hosted by Shanah over at Bionic Book Worm. If you’re interested in the prompts for March, you can check them out here.

This week we’re talking about contemporaries/fiction, which I am very excited about!! Contemporary romances are some of my favorite things to read, so I had to participate this week ☺️

Let’s hop right into it…

5. The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

I’ve read a couple of Matson’s books and I loved them, so I recommend her books for this genre ☺️

Things I loved about this book:

– people talking about books
– cute boy
– drama between friends that took me back to high school

4. The Inevitable Collision of Birdie and Bash

I keep talking about this book because I absolutely loved it, but it hasn’t been read or reviewed by many people at all.

It makes me so sad because it’s such a touching story and it deserves much more love.

Things I loved:

– deep and serious subjects
– cute Brazilian boy
– Portuguese words and sayings casually thrown in there

3. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

This was one of the first books I ever read and it deeply moved me because it deals with serious subjects, much like Birdie and Bash.

The storyline itself is great, and it’ll always be one of my favorite books.

What I loved about it:

– cute ‘forbidden’ couple
– family dynamics
– coming-of-age and self-discovery

2. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

Image result for the summer i turned prettyThis is a trilogy that I devoured in one weekend – a weekend that I spent bawling my eyes out. That’s how deeply this story touched me.

What I loved:

– realistic love triangle
– coming-of-age
– character development
– friendship

1. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

Image result for to all the boys i loved beforeThis had to be #1 because this trilogy is my life. I remember starting this book and immediately ordering the next one (P.S. I Still Love You) because I knew it would kill me to have to wait too long to continue with the story.

It’s such a lovely romance, but it’s much more than that. There are various themes that are addressed here and it’s all done so beautifully!

What I loved:

– the cutest boy ever
– amazing dog
– family dynamics
– interesting and original plot

Let me know all about your favorite contemporaries down in the comments!

Thank you for reading,
I’ll see you in my next post ♡
