Thank you so much to Erica over at Living a Hundred Lives for nominating me, I’m very honored 🙂
How it all began…
I started blogging on Tumblr back in 2015. I posted a few (terrible) reviews on there, and then I started exploring different blog hosting websites. I’d say one of my biggest inspirations when deciding to start a “real” blog was Melina from the blog Serendipity. She actually had a post with advice for new bloggers, so I basically followed it, and now here we are 😁
My advice for new bloggers
This is going to sound very cliché, but just do what you love. It’s your little corner of the internet, so do what YOU like and want, and have fun with it. Write about the books you like to read and read the things you like. Don’t do anything because you see everyone else doing it. Don’t read or review books just because everyone else is doing so. I feel like the hype surrounding books in this community forces everyone to go and read the same thing at the same time, and I don’t think that’s necessarily a good thing. I’ve felt compelled to love books simply because everyone else was raving about how good they were, and I felt as though I was wrong for not liking them as much. Don’t let this happen to you.
Of course, I’m not telling you to just stick to a genre that you know and not branch out and explore other things – which is absolutely fine, you do you -, but I think you get what I’m trying to say. The book community can be rather pushy and I do not like that one bit 😅
Was that two pieces of advice? I’m not sure, but we’re rolling with it 😂
